ARRI Master Prime 18mm Lens (PL, Metric Units)

The ARRI 18mm Master Prime lens, part of a set of 16 from ARRI/Zeiss, boasts exceptional clarity, high contrast, negligible lens breathing, and a speedy T1.3 aperture that allows for a shallow depth of field. The lenses, ranging from 12mm to 150mm, are well-known for color rendition and skin tones characteristic of Zeiss, and are color-matched to ensure consistency. They comprise of an iris with nine or more blades for filmic bokeh and distinct focus transition. Dual floating elements contribute to superior close-focus performance and minimize breathing while focusing. The state-of-the-art T*XP coating curtails reflections and glare while enhancing contrast. Constructed with aspherical elements for minimum chromatic aberration, the ARRI/Zeiss Master Primes deliver superior image quality and seamless chroma-keying. High resolution is guaranteed in image corners, even when the lens is fully open and at close focus. Each lens includes a PL mount and a built-in LDS system for transferring lens data to compatible cameras. The extended focus scale provides ample space for marks and features fluorescent engravings for simpler viewing in dim lighting. The focus ring is marked in both feet and meters, which can be reversed by a qualified technician. This 18mm Master Prime Lens offers a 14" minimum focus distance, focus marks in meters, a comparatively lightweight build of 4.9 pounds, and a compact length of 8". The lenses in this series ensure consistent placement of focus, iris, and zoom rings for easy use with follow focus, zoom control, and F/I/Z wireless systems. Most lenses in the Master Prime series, 18mm included, have a uniformly-sized 114mm front diameter, allowing the use of the same matte box adapter, filter, etc.
