ARRI Master Prime Lens 40mm (PL, Feet)

The ARRI 40mm Master Prime is a part of a 16 lens collection from ARRI/Zeiss. It comes with top-notch resolution, improved contrast, minimal breathing, and a rapid T1.3 aperture for a shallow depth of field. These lenses range from 12mm to 150mm and are known for skin tones, color representation, and color-matched for consistency across the batch. Each of these lenses includes at least a nine-blade iris for cinema-like bokeh with clear focus fall-off. Double floating components enhance near focus functionality and breathing when focusing is reduced. It deploys a T*XP coating to diminish reflections and glare while boosting contrast. The ARRI/Zeiss Master Primes are designed with aspherical elements to reduce chromatic aberrations significantly, rendering superior image quality and sharper chroma-keying. Even at a wide-open lens and close focus, high resolution is upheld in the image periphery. Each lens has a PL mount and an integrated LDS system for lens data transmission to matching cameras. A comprehensive focus scale offers ample space for marks and includes fluorescent engravings for better visibility in low light conditions. The focus ring has both feet and metric markings; a skilled shop technician can reverse one to the other. This 40mm Master Prime Lens sports a 16" minimum focus gap, focus markings set in feet, a light weight of 5.1 pounds, and a compact 8" length. These lenses have consistent placing of focus, iris, and zoom rings for easy use with follow focus, zoom control, and F/I/Z wireless mechanisms. Like the 40mm, most lenses in the Master Prime family have a uniform 114mm front diameter, allowing for the same matte box adapter, filter, etc.
