The Canon EOS RP includes the RF lens mount, supporting the line of Canon's RF-mount lenses noted for their wide 54mm diameter and 20mm flange-back distance. The mount's capability allows for the design of faster and more compact lenses. The integrated 12-pin contact system enhances autofocus and image stabilization. Existing EF and EF-S lenses are compatible via an EF-EOS R Mount Adapter.

The camera integrates a 26.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor for a balance of resolution, low-light performance, and speed, complemented by the DIGIC 8 image processor. Its native sensitivity range from ISO 100-40000 allows shooting under various lighting, while continuous 5 fps shooting captures motion.

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF system offers rapid and precise focus by incorporating two photodiodes within each pixel for wide coverage of phase-detection elements. This system suits still and video work, providing quick focus acquisition and tracking, with sensitivity down to EV -5 in low light.

The EOS RP excels in multimedia creation with UHD 4K video recording at 23.98 fps, along with Full HD 1080p and HD 720p for slow motion. It provides 4:2:0 8-bit internal video and 4:2:2 8-bit via an external recorder. Audio recording is possible with built-in stereo mics or an external microphone through the 3.5mm jack. The 5-axis Dual Sensing IS minimizes camera shake in video recording.

Diverse Video Capabilities

Featuring a bright 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a 3.0" 1.04m-dot vari-angle touchscreen LCD for flexible viewing and operation. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are integrated for remote control and file sharing via Canon Camera Connect app. USB charging is available for convenience.
