The Nikon 1 J1 is a compact mirrorless camera centered on a CX Format (Nikon 1) sensor with 10.1 MP resolution (3872 x 2592), processed by the EXPEED 3 image processor. The camera's 73-point hybrid autofocus system blends phase detection and contrast detection for quick, accurate focusing across the frame. Burst shooting reaches 10 frames per second, well-suited for action and sports scenarios.
ISO sensitivity spans 100 to 3200, covering typical daylight and indoor shooting. Video recording supports 1080p at 30fps as well as high-speed options at 400fps and 1200fps for dramatic slow-motion capture. The 3.0-inch LCD at 460k dots serves as the sole framing and review tool — there is no viewfinder.
