This Auto Mamiya Sekor 55 mm f/ 1.4 is a standard fast lens for cameras with the m42 screw mount. It was manufactured for Mamiya 1000 DTL 35mm film SLR cameras and was a photographer's best workhorse lens in its day. The lens delivers good image sharpness at f/1.4 with beautiful bokeh. The build quality is great with a black and chrome metal lens body. The lens has a smooth focus ring that is well dampened. The aperture ring has an intermediate half-stops with a nice little clicks. This lens was made with radioactive thorium in the glass that causes a slight golden hue to the glass. The front and rear lens elements are in good shape. The lens only has a little dust inside but no fungus or haze. The name Vickery and numbers were engraved on the lens barrel, I am guessing by the photographer that once owned the lens back in the day. This 55mm lens makes a great lens to adapt to a mirrorless digital camera body. Just do a search on Amazon for a cheap M42 to your lens mount and you are off to have some fun like I did.
