It is proficient in both photography and videography, integrating an APS-C sensor into the R range together with rapid shooting, dynamic AF, and impressive 4K video recording to enhance a multimedia workflow.

EOS R10: Compact and Potent, for Content Producers

Seated in a resolution sweet spot, the 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor provides an optimal balance between resolution, file size, speed, and low-light performance. It is suitable for a range of photographic tasks as well as UHD 4K recording, managing file sizes to allow for swift continuous burst shooting and extensive video recording.

24.2MP APS-C CMOS Sensor and DIGIC X Processing Engine

The R10 features a DIGIC X image processor borrowed from the R3, enabling high-speed tasks from continuous shooting to high-resolution video recording. The R10 supports up to 23 fps continuous shooting with a silent electronic shutter or 15 fps with a mechanical shutter, with AF and AE readings before each frame. The processor also enables a sensitivity range from ISO 100-32000, expandable up to ISO 51200 for shooting in challenging lighting conditions.

DIGIC X Processor

In addition to stills, the R10's sensor supports high-resolution UHD 4K 8-bit recording, with the ability to record up to 60p using a cropped portion of the sensor or 30p when using an oversampled 6K recording area for increased clarity, reduced moiré, and decreased noise. The camera supports 120p recording for slow-motion playback at up to Full HD resolution. HDR-PQ recording is also possible for in-camera HDR production in 10-bit and external recording, via the micro-HDMI port, which supports a clean 4K output. The R10 also features an external microphone port and a multi-function shoe for extensive accessories compatibility.

UHD 4K Video Recording

The advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system from the EOS R3 is included in the R10. It features 651 automatic AF points that cover the entire sensor, enabling faster, more responsive, and more accurate focusing. This phase-detection focusing system enhances subject tracking and detection, intelligently recognizing and maintaining sharp focus on people, animals, and vehicles during burst captures.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II

The camera features a bright, clear 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder for high-resolution eye-level monitoring. This 0.95x-magnification finder is enhanced by the quick processing for virtually no lag. A 3.0" vari-angle LCD is also available for working high, low, and front-facing angles. The adaptable position is complemented by a touchscreen interface and vivid playback and live view monitoring. The camera also has a single SD memory card slot supporting UHS-II card speeds for smooth 4K video recording and rapid continuous shooting.

Body Architecture

The camera supports wired and wireless connectivity options for various methods of transferring photos and videos and remote controlling the camera. Physically, the camera comes with a USB Type-C port, a micro-HDMI port, and a 3.5mm microphone port to assist video recording. In terms of wireless, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is can be used for transferring files and remote camera control.

Adaptable Connectivity

The Multi-Function Shoe is an improvement over the conventional hot shoe, introducing a row of pins at the front of the design to allow for greater accessory functionality and to power certain accessory types that traditionally rely on separate batteries. This new shoe is compatible with various accessories, including the ST-E10 Speedlite Transmitter, DM-E1D Stereo Microphone, and AD-P1 Smartphone Link Adapter. The AD-E1 Multi-Function Shoe Adapter also provides compatibility with traditional shoe-mounted accessories.
